From the makers of Flexite, Notherm is a
cast thermoplactic base material that is
hypo-allergenic. This nylon alloy is
completely inert and is used when patients “react” to traditional base materials. (methyl
methacrylate)
Although biocompatible, these bases are strong and
accurate.
Sample swatches are available for testing patient
reactivity.

For the
patient that has a “hard bite”, where high Impact acrylic is
just not strong enough, add this cast palatal mesh to their new full
upper denture. It will significantly reduce
the risk of breakage, while maintaining a reasonable denture
thickness.
This skeleton mesh, is cast in Cr. Co. alloy and does not
flex like wrought reinforcing bars or screening mesh that is
often used.
For additional strength and superior
esthetics it is conditioned and opaqued,
creating a bondable surface that fuses with the outer acrylic and
becomes one. It has the strength of a casting, with the comfort and
beauty of acrylic.

When the patient is a known bruxer, has
an extremely hard bite, and cannot tolerate the necessary thickness of
a cast mesh, a full cast palate fits the bill. They are thin,
accurate, and the palates are virtually unbreakable.
Possible
concerns: Patient will show metal on the roof of the mouth... relining and adjusting can be
difficult.
